One-Line Bio

I am AM's father, a keen follower of technology, people and Liverpool FC.

Biography

I started my career as a Deputy Public Prosecutor in the Commercial Crime Unit in the Malaysian Attorney General Chambers. I later joined the Securities Commission (SC) and spent 3 years there.

In June 2000, I left to join the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), a statutory body that is the regulator for the communications and multimedia industry in Malaysia.

In MCMC, I was the Director of the Security, Trust and Governance Department. The department is responsible for implementing initiatives to support the 10th National Policy Objectives of the Communications and Multimedia Act for the communications and multimedia industry, which is to ensure information security and the reliability and integrity of the network.

I also chaired the Security & Prosperity Steering Group (SPSG) of the APEC TEL (www.apectelwg.org) from TEL 33 to 37 and the Leader for Work Area 5 on International Cooperation for the Global Cybersecurity Agenda (GCA) at the ITU (http://www.itu.int/osg/csd/cybersecurity/gca)

On a personal note, my interest involves reading, sports especially anything to do with football (soccer). I am a Liverpool fan. An accomplishment that I am proud of is that my son has continued this passion of following the Reds :)
