If rumors are to be believed, then Michael Owen may be in line to make a sensational return to Anfeild. The News of the World says so and its carried by the BBC in their daily gossip column.
Newcastle striker Michael Owen is a target for Merseyside rivals Liverpool and Everton. The 28-year-old's contract expires in the summer and is free to talk to clubs in the new year. He would be available for a knockdown £4m in the January transfer window. (News of the World)
If the gossips are true, why do I say he will join Liverpool rather than the team he supported as a boy? Well, for one, he is a former Red. His mates, Carragher and Gerrard is still there. Liverpool need another striker and they're playing in the Champions League. And they have been consistently in the top 4 of the EPL.
And Everton has none of the above.
