Growing Up With AM

Yesterday we were at MidValley (again). I bought AM a pair of Levis and later spent a couple of hours at MPH Bookstore. On our way back, AM got on talking about favorite bands or groups. I told him my favorite has to be Metallica and also others like Anthrax and Slayer plus a host of other bands.

This is when it went awry. AM wanted to buy the Jonas Brothers album. The "Jonas Brothers"? Huh? I asked him why when I've got loads of Metallica. :) Well, I suppose I too have in the past (and even now, would sneak one or two) been "guilty" of listening to Modern Talking, Air Supply, to name two before I got myself all "thrashed up" with SOD, Bathory, DRI, Sepultura etc. So, I should cut him some slack.

We then went to Speedy Video and bought him the Jonas Brothers album. We spent the ride back listening to the brothers. "Awesome"...ermmm, he said. I just grinned. And this morning on the way to work, I "cleansed" the CD player with good old Metallica :)

Merdeka Cup Final 2008

This year's edition is Vietnam's. They defeated reigning champs and host Malaysia 6-5 on penalties after 120 minutes without goals.

This is also AM's first to a football match at a stadium. 29 years ago, my late father took my brother and I to the 1979 Merdeka Cup final where Malaysia and Korea drew 0-0 and later declared joint champs. Our first live football game. AM was sad that Malaysia lost. So am I. More sadder when I remembered the first time I went to a football game with my late dad.
